GSP ターム留学報告①（カナダ）

　1月28日（火）、現在ビクトリア（カナダ）にいる高校１年生のターム留学生と第1回ビデオミーティングを行いました。出国してから１週間経ってからのミーティングでしたが、生徒自身で考えながら様々な困難を乗り越えてきたようで、出国前よりも少し堂々としているように見えました。一方で、ミーティングの最後に「寂しい人はリアクションしてください。」と言うと、数名の生徒がリアクションをしており、日本にいる家族や友人と会えないことに心細さを感じている生徒もいるようでした。
　次回のミーティングは２月中旬下旬に予定されており、現地高校での生活に少しずつ慣れる頃になるかと思います。また彼らから挑戦の数々を聞けることを楽しみにしています。


以下、レポートの一部抜粋

①In Victoria, my host family is really kind, too. Not only that, but they are also friendly. We went hiking on the second day with their dog. The view from top of the mountain was so beautiful. And we played table tennis with their two daughters in their house. It was really fun!

②Today I had ramen noodles downtown and it was very good! However, the ramen I had in Victoria cost 2,400 yen, whereas in Japan it costs about 1,000 yen. I was surprised at how expensive it was, but it was ok because it was delicious!

③Also, I want to say something regarding students in Canada. They are very curious and friendly to many people even from other countries. Not until I came here did I know how much people in Canada are friendly.
